Aviva’s LongTerm Care Plus offers lifetime protection and bumps up your payouts by $200 to $5,000 a month when you are unable to perform at least 2 out of the 6 ADLs (lower than CareShield Life’s requirement of 3).
These payouts are in addition to your Careshield Life payouts.
So, if you buy a LongTerm Care Plus plan with a $1,000 benefit, you will receive $1,000 a month if you cannot perform 2 ADLs, which would not qualify you for CareShield Life. But if you cannot perform three ADLs, you get $1,000 from Aviva and $600 from CareShield Life.
- Lump sum benefit – 3 times your first monthly benefit when you become severely disabled
- Rehabilitation benefit – 50% of your last monthly benefit when your condition improves but you still cannot perform 2 ADLs
- Dependent care benefit – 20% of monthly benefit for up to 36 months if you have a child aged 22 and below
- Caregiver relief benefit – 60% of your monthly benefit for up to 12 months
- Death benefit – 3 times of last paid monthly benefit or rehabilitation benefit
Great Eastern’s Careshield plan provides monthly payouts of $300 to $5,000 on top of your CareShield Life payouts when you are unable to perform at least 2 ADLs (as opposed to the 3 required by CareShield Life).
Great Eastern Careshield Enhanced:
- Pays out 100% of the monthly benefit if you are unable to perform 2 ADL
- Mild disability benefit — get 3 times your monthly benefit if you are unable to perform 1 ADL
- A 35-year-old female getting coverage until age 65 would pay an annual premium of $685.66 for a monthly benefit of $1,000.
NTUC Income careShield Life supplements help to close the gap by providing coverage from 2 ADLs and above, offering monthly payouts (yes, also for life) and other payments that can help your caregivers and even your dependants.
Income’s Care Secure (a CareShield Life supplement) closes the gap as it provides coverage for 2 ADLs or more. This means an individual will be covered from an earlier stage of disability (and we know every little bit of extra financial support helps, right?).
Depending on the level of your CareShield Life supplement plan, the monthly disability payout could be as high as $5,000 (for Income’s Care Secure).
